Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

Cornwall infoHub is committed to making this website accessible to as many people as possible, including those with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

What we have done

• Used semantic HTML elements throughout the site (headings, landmarks, lists)
• Ensured all images have descriptive alternative text
• Maintained colour contrast ratios that meet WCAG 2.1 AA requirements
• Made all interactive elements keyboard-navigable with visible focus indicators
• Used ARIA labels on navigation regions and complex interactive components
• Ensured the site is usable at up to 200% zoom without loss of content
• Designed the site to be responsive and usable on mobile devices

Known limitations

We are aware of the following accessibility limitations and are working to address them:

• Church Map page: the interactive Google Map may not be fully accessible to screen reader users. We provide a searchable list of churches on the Map page as an alternative.
• Third-party content: events and news are collected from church websites that we do not control. Some source content may not meet accessibility standards.

Technical information

This website is built using React with server-side rendering. It has been tested with:

• Keyboard-only navigation
• Chrome and Firefox on desktop and mobile
• Safari on iOS

We have not yet conducted a formal audit with assistive technologies such as NVDA or JAWS. We intend to do so before the end of 2026.
